Welcome to Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ!

Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ is a congregation full of
dedicated people who love to serve the Lord in the community around us and
beyond.

Our members come from many different backgrounds to gather in worship and
serve Jesus Christ. We welcome you and we encourage you to visit us on Sunday
mornings for worship. Come and see!

Maybe you’re asking the question, “Why would I choose to come to Hudsonville
Congregational UCC”? In our area, there are many different churches in which
people might choose to worship. Many of these churches are faithful, loving, and
committed to serving Jesus Christ and we encourage you to check them out. But let
us share with you why we think Hudsonville Congregational United Church of
Christ is a special place.

We are Christ-centered, which means that everything we do and say is focused
around Jesus Christ. Our worship, our ministry teams, fellowship events and
everything else all revolve around the belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and
Savior and that we are called to serve Him through work in the community and
beyond, and to praise God at ALL times for the work God accomplishes through
our effort. We fully understand that without Christ, our lives would have no
meaning or purpose.

Second, you are Welcomed! We are a diverse community of believers and we
believe that everyone is a child of God and that you are special.

Finally, you will find that Hudsonville Congregational is a place where you can feel
safe to explore your faith. We are a church where creativity is valued and you
will find many opportunities to joyfully serve the Lord in meeting the needs of
people in our congregation, our community and throughout the world.

We encourage you to Come and See for yourself. Check out our worship service,
our opportunities for people to belong, grow, serve, and share as a community of
believers and followers of Christ. And be sure to visit our welcome center too
where you can learn more about Hudsonville Congregational United Church of
Christ.

And if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at the church office
at 616.669.1925.

We understand that life pulls you in many directions, but taking the time for God
makes life so much better and we hope to be a part of that journey with you.

Pastor’s Welcome
Dear Friends,

As I sit here on a cloudy May morning, the
air outside is in the 40’s, the dampness from
yesterday’s rain seeps into the bones, and
summer seems like some far off dream. And
yet, by the time you receive this in a week
or two, I imagine the earth will have
warmed considerably and summer will be
much more than a dream. That’s how it is in
Michigan!

As I look forward to summer, of course I
dream of sunlight reflecting off blue water.
I imagine wet sand between my toes, and
the sound of gulls soaring overhead. I can
imagine these things, dream of them,
because I have experienced them in the
past. They are part of who I am, this gift
of summer and sunlight and shore. Not
everyone has this gift, but I wish they did.

So it is with the abundance of life that God
offers us. It is like being given a moment,
an experience that is so beautiful it
overwhelms us with grace, and there is
nothing to do but enjoy it, give thanks, and
then try to share it with others. Haven’t
you known such moments of abundance and
grace? Haven’t you simply had to stop and
breathe in wonder?

That’s what God is like: the giver of such
abundance, such love and good will, so many
acts of kindness, that we can do nothing but
stand in awe. And then seek to share. I
can’t imagine any child in Michigan growing
up without an experience of at least one of
the Great Lakes. Surely no child could grow
up in this state without ever having sat in a
boat on some lake, could they? Such a thing
cannot be missed.

Surely no child could ever grow up without
knowing they are loved, valued, and
precious to God, could they? Surely no
child could grow up without experiencing
the abundant life God has worked so hard
to offer, could they? Could they?

Blessings on your summer experiences.
Enjoy them. Share them. Share God, too.

Love,
Jan
